NCASA Welcomes New Staff Member

The North Carolina Association of School Administrators (NCASA) has added a new staff member, Elizabeth Yelverton, to its enthusiastic team. Elizabeth works as the Legal Affairs and Policy Manager to keep NCASA and its members informed on the latest legal developments and news affecting North Carolina’s educational community.

Elizabeth also serves as a lobbyist for the association, advocating for NCASA’s legislative priorities in support of North Carolina’s education administrators. As a North Carolina licensed attorney, Elizabeth also conducts legal research and provides NCASA members with pertinent legal advice when needed.

Elizabeth is a recent graduate of Campbell University School of Law, in the heart of downtown Raleigh, and spent much of her time in law school interning at the NC General Assembly. Elizabeth also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Campbell Law Observer, and Community Outreach Chairperson for Campbell’s Women in Law organization. She also enjoyed participating in the Campbell Law Innocence Project, as well as the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Prior to attending Campbell, Elizabeth attended North Carolina State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor in English degree. She concentrated in language, writing, and rhetoric, and this focus is reflected in her continued passion for writing and storytelling.

When Elizabeth is not attending education committee meetings, advocating at the legislature, or frantically typing an article in the office, she enjoys going to the beach or hanging out with her two cats, Sir Fitzgerald and Sasha Fierce.
