U.S. Department Of Education Requests Additional Information To Approve North Carolina's ESSA Plan
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for North Carolina was submitted to the U.S. Department of Education on September 18, 2017. However, according to DPI, the federal department responded with many areas in the NC plan that lacked in both information and statutory and regulatory requirements. DPI has released a response letter from the U.S. Department of Education for the specific items on which the NC plan requires supporting information or emendation. More information about ESSA and the steps NC is taking to get the plan where it needs to be for the U.S. Department of Education can be found here.
