The Senate confirmed four of Gov. Roy Cooper's appointments to the Board of Trustees of the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System on Wednesday. A fifth appointee remains in limbo after he wasn't available to take questions from a Senate committee earlier in the day. The Senate unanimously confirmed SBI Special Agent David "Dirk" German of Wake County; Oliver Holley, a current teacher; Linda H. Gunter, a retired teacher; and Lt. Colonel John Ebbighausen, a National Guard member. The fifth appointee, Cecil Vernon Gammon, who would have been a public member of the board, was not available for the Senate's Pensions and Retirement and Aging Committee meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
