Anne Strickland

Anne currently serves as Assistant Executive Director of the North Carolina Association of School Administrators, a nonprofit membership organization for superintendents, principals, and other members of public school leadership teams from across the state. Rejoining the organization July 2015 in this new role, she works to meet organizational goals, leading communications and marketing efforts while developing strategy to enhance the services NCASA provides to our members and to the community. 

Previously serving as the NCASA's Director of Communications, her tenure with NCASA includes an organizational rebranding and enhanced weekly newsletter In the Know, launch of the new NCASA.net and NCASALegislativeLink.com, as well as the execution of the ongoing Every Child's Chance... Every Community's Future campaign.

In the interim, she was invited to join the Administrative Cabinet of and spent the 2014-15 school year serving as Director of Communications & Marketing for Louisburg College. Anne brings with her a passion for nonprofit management and 15+ years of Communications experience. She enjoyed prior service to the North Carolina Bar Association, the voluntary membership organization for lawyers and legal professionals from across the state. Spending nearly seven years as the Assistant Director of Communications, Anne received the National Association of Bar Executives 2012 President's Award for her role in launching their webinar program. 

Anne is a graduate of the MS in Technical Communication program at NCSU, and is fascinated by communication, rhetoric and digital media and the ways in which the public both navigates technology and embraces change. She earned a BS in Communication from Appalachian State University.

Outside of the office, you can find Anne actively involved in the Junior League of Raleigh, where she recently ended a term as Vice President of Communications and Strategies and is currently serving as Graphic Designer. She also serves on the board of the Caswell-Nash Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America's future through better education for children, as well as PR & Marketing Co-Chair for Communities in Schools NC's annual Wine Women & Shoes event. 

Anne lives in Garner with her husband Drew, two cats, and their dog Beans.
